About Lineup Archive
Lineup Archive is an independent fan archive of music festival lineups, edited by Lineup Archive. It answers the questions festival fans actually ask: who played a given year, who headlined, how often an artist has been booked, and which acts have played two festivals.
Where the data comes from
Each festival's lineups come from its "line-ups" page on English Wikipedia, which volunteers compile from festival announcements and press coverage. We download those pages through the Wikipedia API, read the year, day, stage and order of every act, and keep a link back to the exact section. Artist details (country, genre) come from Wikidata, and photos from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, credited on the photo credits page.
How billing and headliners work
Billing order is the order in which acts are listed for each day and stage on the source page, which for most festivals follows the official poster. An act is a headliner when the source marks it in bold. For years where the source marks no headliners, the first act on the main stage each day is shown as the headliner, and the page says so.
Artist pages group appearances by the Wikipedia article an act links to. Acts without an article are matched by name. Two different acts with the same name can occasionally be merged; if you spot one, let us know.
Corrections
The archive is only as accurate as its sources, and it covers the stages and acts each festival's Wikipedia line-up page lists, so smaller stages and late additions can be missing. If a lineup is wrong or incomplete, the fastest fix is to correct the Wikipedia page, which we re-read every week. You can also write to hello@lineuparchive.com (see Contact).
Cancelled, online and upcoming editions
Editions that were cancelled, held only online or replaced by a livestream keep their announced lineup on the site, clearly labelled, but those sets never count as festival appearances in artist histories or records. Lineups for festivals that have not happened yet are shown as announced and counted once the festival has taken place.
Independence
Lineup Archive is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any festival, promoter or artist. Festival names are used only to describe the events. The site is funded by advertising.
